Part-Time Women’s Advocate Description of Duties: YWCA Missoula is looking for a part-time women’s advocate to offer support for women staying at the domestic violence shelter. The person in this position assists the Shelter coordinator with everyday operations of the shelter and provides survivor-focused and trauma-informed advocacy services to victims of interpersonal violence by staffing the shelter, crisis line and walk in hours, and working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in the local community. The person in this position will work days, evenings, weekends and on call; varied days and hours to be discussed at interview. Qualifications: This position requires one year of experience working with domestic violence and/or sexual assault and survivors of trauma. One year of case management preferred. Completion of YWCA Advocate Training preferred. B.S. in social work or related field preferred. Applicant’s must have a current Montana driver’s license and proof of auto insurance in compliance with Montana state law, and must pass a background check to protect the interests of the women and children served in the YWCA programs.
